Once in a lifetime, someone comes into your life that will touch your heart and soul forever. For me, that person was Debbie, my niece. Even though she was eleven years younger, we were soul mates from the time she was a very young girl. After moving to Florida, she spent most summers with me. She always looked to me for advice, since many events in our lives were so similar. She gave me the title of "Helpful Hannah" . Debbie was always afraid that I would someday be instantly "OLD" and forget how to have fun. I made sure even up to the last time I saw her, that never happened. When we were together, the laughter resonated throughout the house, and most likely the whole neighborhood. She had an infectious laugh, that could light up any room.
During her cancer, Debbie remained optimistic, and showed amazing courage. She held on to the faith that had always been a big part of her life. She was an inspiration to all she came in contact with, during her battle with cancer. It was during our conversations while she was sick, that she encouraged me to open this business. She said God left me here to minister to those who were experiencing cancer as I did 14 years ago.
I miss you Debbie and dedicate Pink Ribbon to your memory. I will always remember you as a dedicated Christian, Daughter, Wife, Mother, Sister, and most of all, "My Best Friend" .
